Martha Montano, owner of CLM Technologies, spoke to us about effective sales strategies for small business success.
According to Montano, the biggest misconception about sales is that it’s easy. Not everyone can do it: you need to get out there and work on it every day. Here are some tips on how to cultivate relationships and drive sales:
- Get referrals from existing clients. Word of mouth is the best way to drive sales. Never leave a meeting without asking a client for a referral.
- Be persistent. Take time every day to reach out to new and potential clients. Make calls, do email blasts, and connect on social media. Montano recommends spending an hour or two every day, or making 25-50 calls a day.
- Network. Get out there and meet people every day, and give your card to everyone you meet.
