Accion has a longstanding partnership with Goodwin Procter LLP (Goodwin), including as a partner in Goodwin’s Neighborhood Business Initiative, which brings business legal services to underserved small business owners and low income entrepreneurs in Greater Boston, New York and California. The program is rooted in the belief that strong neighborhood businesses are a cornerstone of community development and diverse, vibrant neighborhoods.
Through this collaboration, Goodwin conducts workshops and provides pro bono consultations for Accion clients, putting valuable legal expertise in the hands of entrepreneurs who may not otherwise have access to these resources. From workshops on food labeling and packaging for Samuel Adams’ Brewing the American Dream program borrowers, to individual consultations on intellectual property, choice of entity and contract negotiations, Goodwin helps Accion fulfill our commitment to be a true partner to every client we serve.
In addition to supporting our small business clients, Goodwin has provided hundreds of hours of pro bono legal as outside counsel to Accion, providing advice and helping to make our work possible. Accion is deeply grateful to Goodwin for their dedication to the small business owners revitalizing communities nationwide
