Community Lender

The Community Lender is a salaried, exempt position that reports to a Community Lending Manager. The Community Lender is the first point of contact for prospective Accion borrowers seeking capital to start or grow their business. Community Lenders are responsible for generating client leads, making loans, maintaining portfolio quality, connecting underserved entrepreneurs to resources that support their success and providing outstanding customer service to existing, past and prospective clients.

As a member of ACCION’s Intake team, you will contribute to our mission by providing support to microloan applicants. The Intake team acts as the face of ACCION; quite often, the first contact the client has is with our team. The Intake team primes all applicants that are received, ensuring that our lending team can dedicate their time to converting applications into loans. The intake team provides customer service to clients, including but not limited to financial education and information about ACCION’s lending criteria.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage income call volume and prioritize voicemail
  • Monitor fax and respond to email inquiries
  • Assist with outbound communication channels (SMS,E-mail) and systematic, multi-channel lead tracking through digital dashboard
  • Provide client feedback and potential recommendations for technical assistance

 

Qualifications:

  • Fluent or Bilingual English/Spanish required Portuguese a plus

Accion Serving the East Coast is seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Internet Lending Volunteer located remotely.

 

Job Description:

The Accion Internet Lending student volunteer is an opportunity to learn and apply skills to work in the field of domestic microfinance. Internet Lending volunteers work closely with the Accion loan consultants to analyze the loan applications which are received online. From the beginning of the micro lending process, interns assist in document collection and loan analysis – gaining valuable knowledge about domestic microfinance and are instrumental in furthering the mission of Accion.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Loan Consultants to compile complete business loan packages
  • Alert LC of missing documents, preliminary questions, and distinctive situations
  • Alert LC of new clients and when additional documents have been received

 

Qualifications required:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Portuguese a plus
  • Background in Finance preferred

SUMMARY

The Intake team acts as the face of Accion, often times serving as the first point of contact.  The functional areas impacted by this position are lending and online channels.  The Intake Specialist will support Accion’s mission by providing excellent customer service and assisting the lending team with application conversion.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Intake Manager, the Intake Specialist will be responsible for providing excellent customer service measured by:

 

Speedy and professional prequalification of applicants:

  • Manage incoming call volume and track leads in Salesforce
  • Prioritize voicemails and e-mail inquiries
  • Pre-qualify client applications for product selection within expected guidelines and upload document collection in SPARK system
  • Process loan applications in Salesforce and provide prequalification results
  • Process daily Small Business Administration SBA LINC email communications using Mail Chimp
  • Monitor fax and assist with outbound communication channels (SMS, E-mail) and systematic, multi-channel lead tracking through digital dashboards

 

Tailored financial education and credit advice:

  • Providing clients with feedback and potential recommendations to improve credit profile.
  • Offer clients educational materials to assist with credit repair as well assist with credit report requests.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on lending guidelines to lead applicants appropriately through the lending process.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on financial education products to educate applicants on additional services.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual – English and Spanish required. Portuguese a plus
  • Business Acumen, Bachelors’ degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Enjoys both working independently and within a team environment

Accion Serving the East Coast is seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Loan Consultant located in Central and North FL.

 

MISSION OF THE LOAN CONSULTANT

To drive borrowers to Accion and guide them throughout the application process to successful financial outcomes.  The Loan Consultant will generate leads; connect clients to resources that support their success, assisting clients with their applications and providing outstanding customer service to existing, past and prospective clients in coordination with the Manager of Lending’s Outreach and Sales Strategy.  The Loan Consultant will report to the Manager of Lending; Florida.  This position will be based out of the Orlando area.

 

OUTCOMES

  • Deliver on monthly sales goals by lending 55K a month to 6 business owners.
  • Deliver on monthly new loan conversion at a threshold of 24% or higher
  • 44% of monthly disbursements should be refinance applications
  • Deliver on generating and converting 2 leads a month from clients
  • Deliver 2+ sales presentations a month in ordination with the outreach strategy

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate when applicable, quality business loan production to meet organizational loan production goals
  • Effectively perform outreach and market Accion products and services
  • Administer and manage lending process by serving as a conduit between client and underwriting team
  • Maintain contact with current borrowers
  • Initiate loans through multiple avenues and conduct presentations to referral sources/borrowers
  • Manage, participate and support documentation gathering of loan approvals and client data entry accurately in client management database system
  • Serve as key relationship manager of loan applicants
  • Provide lending information to potential customers
  • Manage loan lead activity in client management system
  • Support Lending Manager and Senior LC in conducting market and field specific research

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bilingual -English and Spanish; Bachelor’s preferred
  • Three years’ experience working in small business; prior business experience/sales skills preferred
  • Strong self-starter, creative thinker and problem solver
  • Good presentation and math skills; Knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Ability to plan and conduct business workshops on a variety of business related topics (financial management, marketing, managing cash flow, business credit, business plan development and implementation etc.)
