Accion Serving the East Coast is seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Intake Volunteer located in Boston.

 

As a member of Accion’s Intake team, you will contribute to our mission by providing support to microloan applicants. The Intake team acts as the face of Accion; quite often, the first contact the client has is with our team. The Intake team primes all applicants that are received, ensuring that our lending team can dedicate their time to converting applications into loans. The intake team provides customer service to clients, including but not limited to financial education and information about Accion’s lending criteria.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage income call volume and prioritize voicemail
  • Monitor fax and respond to email inquiries
  • Assist with outbound communication channels (SMS,E-mail) and systematic, multi-channel lead tracking through digital dashboard
  • Provide client feedback and potential recommendations for technical assistance

 

Qualifications:

  • Fluent or Bilingual English/Spanish required Portuguese a plus
  • Eager to learn
  • High attention to detail
  • Engaging phone manners
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle large caseload and a fast paced environment.
  • Interest in customer service
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Multitasking abilities

 

Time Commitment: approx. 20 hours per week, flexible

MISSION OF THE PAYMENT SUPPORT VOLUNTEER

The mission of the PT – Payment Support Volunteer is to assist the Payment Support Department of Accion with the completion of projects, and other related assignments as deemed necessary based on department needs and operations demands.  The Payment Support Volunteer will work directly under the supervision of the Client Risk & Recovery Manager following directions and supporting the work of other members in the department as needed.

 

OUTCOMES

To provide assistance as needed for the effectiveness and efficiency of the Payment Support Department responsible to complete various ad-hoc assignments within the required time-frame as needed.

The Accion Internet Lending student volunteer is an opportunity to learn and apply skills to work in the field of domestic microfinance. About the Loan Operations Intern Position

The Loan Operations internship is an opportunity to learn and apply skills to work in the field of domestic microfinance. Loan Operations interns work closely with the Accion loan consultants to complete and analyze the loan application. From the beginning of the micro lending process, interns assist in document collection and loan analysis — gaining valuable knowledge about domestic microfinance and are instrumental in furthering the mission of Accion.

 

Responsibilities:

Work with Loan Consultants to compile complete loan packages.

Work with Loan Consultant on plan to increase document collection process efficiency.

Input and prequalify applications if Intake Department is at capacity, collect/arrange loan documents, verify scorecard, screen application and create file folders in Client Drive.

Alert LC of missing documents, preliminary questions, and distinctive situations.

Alert LC of new clients and when additional documents have been received.

Create an initial LAP after all documents are collected (for review/revision by Loan Consultant).

Compile completed packages and attach to Edge. Include detailed notes in client file for LC review.

 

 

Qualifications:

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Commitment to the field of microfinance and Accion.

Knowledge of loan operations and/or small business a plus.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and databases.

Strong attention to detail.

Familiarity with finance and accounting.

20 hours per week flexible hours, minimum 3-6  months internship.
