Albuquerque, NM (April 1, 2019) – Accion, a nationally recognized, regional nonprofit lending organization, recently earned a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.
A four-star rating is the highest possible rating Charity Navigator issues. This is the eighth consecutive time that Accion has earned this distinction for its sound financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency, an honor only 4% of charities rated receive.
“Accion is deeply committed to good stewardship of the dollars entrusted to the organization. Our contributors truly make our mission of supporting underserved entrepreneurs possible,” said president and CEO of Accion, Anne Haines. “We are so pleased to have been recognized again with a four-star rating by Charity Navigator.”
In a statement to the organization, Charity Navigator noted, “Only 4% of the charities we evaluate have received at least eight consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Accion outperforms most other charities in America. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets Accion apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.”
Charity Navigator is the largest and most-utilized charity evaluator in America. The organization helps guide intelligent giving by evaluating the financial health, accountability and transparency of over 9,000 charities and provides basic data on the rest of the 1.8 million U.S. nonprofits.
